Somewhere along the road, I’ve lost a part of me.

Maybe because people kept on using it not only for their benefit, but they have also crossed all the lines I’ve drawn.

It happened so slowly, they sneaked up on me. I was so unaware.

I got lost. I tumbled and cried.

Now I walk around with a new attitude, that might upset some, but is totally fine by me.

Because I now know for sure, that the pieces you lose along the way, are life’s reminder of what you’ve been through, of what you LET people do to you. Because then maybe, just maybe, next time you will be aware not to walk towards the same trap again. Because if you can’t remember the fact that you’ve been there before, that you’ve been hurt this exact way, you will never be cautious.

Life has a tendency of teaching us lessons the hard way. And I can assure you, lessons learned that leave scars behind, are the ones we WILL always remember, for ever and ever.

Nothing’s impossible, I have found
For when my chin is on the ground.
I pick myself up,
Dust myself off
And start all over again.

Don’t lose your confidence
If you slip
Be grateful for a pleasant trip
And pick yourself up,
Dust yourself off
And start all over again.
